Dear Pastors and Praying Friends,
This month has been so exciting! There have been plenty of things going on in the ministry that fill us with hope and expectation of all that God is going to do through the ministry here.
New Church Plant
Lighthouse Baptist Church was started many years ago by my brother, Chris Gardner, when he was only 18 years old. God has used this church for many years and many churches have been started through it. Pastor Juan Pacheco was saved at the church from a life of alcohol. In the month of November they launched a new church plant with Rulin Quispe as the pastor of the new church. Rulin graduated from Bible college last year and we are very excited about the new church. Please pray for Rulin and the new church, that they would reach many lost people for the cause of Christ.
Growth At Omega
We keep praising God for how He is sending new growth to Omega Baptist Church! I have had the privilege of being part of the team that planted the church and now I have been pastoring the church for the past 4 years. God has blessed us with explosive growth in the past few months and we are running an average of 120 in attendance. We have set up an overflow room on the second floor of the church to be able to fit everyone in the church. Please pray that we can follow up and help these new people that are arriving to Omega.
It has been very exciting to see a 22 year old young man named Walter arrive to our church and be saved recently. He has shown amazing growth in the past few months and I’m excited to see how God is going to continue working in his life. It is so exciting to see him have true joy in his life, a passion to hear the Word of God preached and love for a local body of believers.
Pleas pray for Walter to continue growing and following the Lord in obedience. He will be getting baptized on the 11th at our special baptism Sunday.
Bible College Graduation
Since we are on the other side of the equator, our seasons are turned around and summer starts in December. Our graduation was held on December 2nd at Lighthouse Baptist Church and it was a wonderful time. Over 300 people showed up to celebrate 11 of our students graduating! I’m very hopeful for this group of students that have graduated this year. It seems all of them have a clear vision of where they want to serve and what they want to be doing in the near future. Lenin is our assistant pastor and will continue to work at Omega for the time being. José Luis is a married father of two and will be going to northern Peru to plant a church in the city of Chiclayo. Irvin is a young man from Lima who will be returning to his home church to work as an assistant pastor for a year as he prepares to get married and head out to start a church.
Thank you so much for being a part of the ministry here in Peru through your prayers and support.
