Kyle and Hannah Shreve Prayer Letter

Dear pastors and praying friends-

This July may be one of the most exciting months in our lives.

Not only will Hannah and I celebrate 4 years of marriage this month, but this is also our last complete month we will spend in America for a long time! We leave August 23, tickets bought and paid, and we are on our way out! So this will be the last full month we spend in America for a long time!

Our departure date draws near!

In the summer of 2005, I was a 14 year old boy living in Maryland. My mom drove myself and 2 other young men to a missions summer camp in Georgia, and it changed my life. That week was the first time I met Austin Gardner (now my pastor) and was introduced to the idea of God using my life as a missionary. It was during that week the Lord called me to the mission field!

Since that week, 11 years ago, I have been looking forward to the day that I could leave for the mission field. To know that, in a few short weeks, we will live out that God given calling and dream, is one of the most exciting things in my life.

I cannot express just how great it is to know that we are following God’s plan for our lives. I would encourage every single Christian to follow the Lord’s leading, calling, and guiding in their life. No matter where the Lord takes you, a life spent serving and following Him is far greater than anything else. No amount of money, fame, worldly success or accolades can ever approach a life spent following the Lord.

No matter who you are, can I ask you to follow God’s plan for your life? Give up on small dreams and ambitions, and follow the Lord Jesus!

Paperwork and support

We are finishing up the paperwork aspect of leaving for Peru, and while we do not anticipate any problems, please pray for God to move our papers through and get them taken care of.

Also, we had new supporters in June, and thank the Lord for that. He, and His people, have always been kind to us, and treated us so much better than we deserve. We still lack some support, and, by faith, believe the Lord will provide the remaining support. Will you pray for the Lord to provide the remaining support? We also have a little left to raise for our setup fund, and ask that you would also pray for that. If you would like to help with either, you can send all donations to: P.O. Box 442, Alpharetta, GA, 30009- Attn: Shreve

Consider visiting the mission field in 2017

If you have never taken a missions trip to the foreign field before, or haven’t been in a while, 2017 would be a great year to come and visit Peru! We would love to have you, and know that the Lord would do something great in your life during your visit to Peru. Contact peruministry@gmail.com for more info! We hope to see you in Peru very soon!

in conclusion

Thank you so much for your prayers and support, and we are truly, truly, honored to know each and every one of you. We pray for you, and sincerely hope God uses your life. Thank you so much for everything!

Exciting News!

13177198_940390006078116_8503906794034345503_nA BIG ANNOUNCEMENT FROM KYLE AND HANNAH SHREVE!

Today, June 18th, I purchased our plane tickets to Peru. Yes, that is correct! We have our departure tickets bought and paid for, and will be leaving for Peru on August 23 from Atlanta!

I was a 14 year old boy at summer camp when the Lord called me to be a missionary, and since that day, I have been looking forward to, and dreaming of, the day I would leave America for the foreign field as a missionary.

Today, with the purchase of two plane tickets, that day became Aug 23, 2016. For almost 11 years now, I have been looking forward to this day, and I am so excited to finally  be leaving for the foreign field as a missionary.

Thank you to everyone who has prayed for us, supported us, invested in us, and helped us along our way as we have been preparing for the field, and on deputation. We are truly thankful for each and every one of you, and pray that God will greatly bless your investment in our lives and ministry.

As we finish up our final 2 months of deputation, there are many ways you can pray for us:

1-Paperwork, paperwork, paperwork! Filling out forms has become my new past time, and there are many more to fill out! Departure interviews, international drivers licenses, residency and visa paperworks, and many more! I do not anticipate any issues with any of these forms, but  please pray for them all the same. Peru is a very open and free country, in terms of doing missions work/church planting, so we will be able to legally operate as missionaries there in the country. All the same, please pray for our paperwork and visas.

2-Remaining support! We have about 80% of our support, but still lack some. We are trusting that the Lord will provide in this area, and leaving, believing, by faith, that He will! We have just a touch more to save for our set up fund, and all your prayers in this matter are greatly appreciated!

3-Packing. Hannah has done an INCREDIBLE job getting bags packed and ready for the move, but, when you are packing all your belongings up, it takes more than one afternoon! We already have 2 bags in Peru, and Hannah, with the help of our pastor’s wife (Mrs. Betty Gardner) packed 6 more in the last week. We will not be taking a container, so the majority of our belongings will be sent in army duffle bags! Please pray for Hannah as she finishes packing and our bags as they will be transported to Peru!

Thank you so much for your prayers in this exciting time! This is literally a dream come true, and we could not see this happen without you! God has called us to Peru, and used you to help get us there. Thank you, from the very bottom of our hearts, and God bless you!

David Gardner Update – Finally Home!

Finally Home!

Thank you for your prayers for my trip! God blessed it in many ways. I was able to visit many churches in four different states – Georgia, Ohio, Tennessee and Alabama. The people were very encouraged to hear about what God is doing in Peru.

Please pray that many of these meetings will turn into future support. The churches sincerely expressed a desire to support, so please pray that God would provide for them and open the doors needed for there to be monthly support from these meetings.

I would also like to thank Vision Baptist Church for all of their efforts to make me feel welcome at my home church and am so thankful for their loving and giving spirit towards missionaries.

Back To Work

I arrived back to Peru on Saturday morning at 6 am and was really excited to see my wife and kids again! I was able to spend some time with them on Saturday and Sunday morning it was back to work preaching. I also taught at the Bible College this week and have returned to all my duties as a missionary here.

Please continue to pray for the ministry here and that God would continue to bless it!

God Is So Good

God’s Provision On My Trip

So far this has been a wonderful trip to the United States. We have been able to present the work of the ministry to churches as well as give updates to friends and supporters. God has also used this trip to encourage me to keep moving forward in serving Him. It is exciting for me to be able to share what God is doing in Peru and rejoice with other Christians here in the States over the ministry there.

Presenting at Southside Baptist Church

Please pray for the last week of my trip; I will be leaving to head back to Peru on Friday the 20th.  I am looking forward to getting back to the ministry, but most of all getting back to my family.

Mother’s Day at the Bible College

On the Tuesday after Mother’s Day we were able to hold a Mother’s Day banquet and celebration for all of the mothers of the students, teachers, and pastors on the team. It was very exciting to see the pictures  of all who came and the great program and banquet that they had.

May 04

Last week was an eventful week, even though we had some sad
news in the middle of it…

Trip to Trujillo

God opened the door for me to visit the Seminario Bautista del Peru to teach a module on how to counsel the young people. I had an opporuntity to teach over 15 pastors and Christian workers that have been in the ministry for many years. The Semniario Bautista del Peru has been a Bible College that was started 40 years ago in the Northen part of the country, and God has greatly used them to see many churches planted in Northern Peru.  I’m excited about the opportunities that we have to work together to see more churches planted and missionaries sent around the world. Please pray for the national pastors and missionaries that work together to accomplish this ministry.

A Great Loss

While I was in Trujillo on Thursday night I got the news that one of the young men from our church that had moved to another town for work had been in a motorclye accident and passed away. His name was Lucio Condori. He was 25 years old. Lucio was a great blessing to us at the church and was always sharing the gospel with anyone he could, including his family, friends, coworkers, and even his bosses. God greatly used his life and thanks to his work two churches have been started because of people that he originally reached in different areas of the city.

Please pray for his family as they go through this time and that they would be sensitive to the gospel. Also pray for the town of La Joya, where God has given us the opportunity to possibly start a work.

Church Anniversary

This Sunday, Iglesia Bautista Omega celebrated its 7th year as a church. It was such a blessing to see all the people come together and serve in the church. We had over 150 people in attendance and many visitors, and we also had the opportunity to have a picnic after the service. We hope that God will use the seeds planted during the anniversary service to see many people saved.

Thank you for praying for us and the ministry. We ask that you would be in prayer for me as I’m already in the US traveling to different churches and presenting the Peru Ministry!

David Gardner Prayer Letter – April ’16

Dear Pastors and Praying Friends,

I would like to thank all of you for your continued prayer and support. We have seen some big changes in the past couple of months with my brother, Chris, resigning from the mission field and serving the Lord in his next phase of ministry. But we praise God that things keep moving forward and He continues to bless the ministry here.

Peru Bible College

For the past three years I have been praying and asking God to bless us with 50 students in the Bible college. It has been something that we have been praying for and working towards, but it just didn’t seem to happen.

Starting this semester we have seen the Lord bless beyond our expectations! We are praising God that we have 63 students in the Bible College this semester. We have a very large freshman class of 23 students and many other people that are coming to take individual courses.

This is a ministry comprised of all of our local churches in the area. Our teachers are local church pastors that sacrifice of their time and energy to invest in the lives of these young men and women. We have seen numerous churches started by the men graduating from this college and it is impacting our city, our country and our continent for the glory of God. Please continue to pray for the monthly support designated to this ministry. We wish to continue seeing men and women trained in the best way possible in order to evangelize the world with the gospel.

Omega Baptist Church

On May 1st we will be celebrating the anniversary for Omega Baptist Church. The church is now 7 years old and God is continuing to use it in our community and in our city. I would ask you to pray for the church to continue to grow and for God to bless our big day. We are hoping to have 150 in attendance and to be able to share the gospel with them.

We are currently averaging around 75 people in church these days and the leadership in the church is growing. Many people are continually getting involved, being discipled and serving in their local church.

Fundraising Trip

I will be traveling back to the U.S. on May 2nd for two and a half weeks in order to raise more personal support as well as support for the Bible College. I have already booked all of our services and I am thankful to each pastor who has given me an opportunity to come and present our ministry. Please pray that we could raise more funds for the ministry here. Things are constantly growing and changing and we are always looking for people to partner with us in this endeavor.

Thank you all for your prayers and support!

Victory Baptist Church 19th Anniversary

Yesterday, I was invited to Victory Baptist Church for their 19th    anniversary. I was very encouraged to see the amount of people at the church and the joyful spirit that they had!

Victory Baptist was started by my brother Chris Gardner and Ronald Tubillas nineteen years ago. Pablo Villegas is currently the pastor, and God has blessed this church tremendously! More than four churches have been started out of Victory and they are continuing to train young men for the ministry. Yesterday they had 3 people baptized in their anniversary service!

We are also excited that they were able to have  their anniversary service in their new building! As you can see in the pictures, they only have the walls finished.  They don’t have a roof yet because they are needing between $5-6,000 dollars to complete the roof. The floor is still dirt and they are working daily to complete building the church.

I would like to thank my home church, Vision Baptist Church, for giving over $8,000 to their building project to help finish building the walls and auditorium for the church. Many more people can fit in the building now and I am excited to see how God is going to use them to finish the building project.

If you would like to be a part of this project, you can email gardnerinperu@gmail.com.

Thank you so much for praying for us and keeping up with the ministry!

Upcoming Trip

I wanted to thank everyone for keeping up to date with us and praying for my trip to the United States coming up in May. I have booked all of our meetings for the trip, and am looking forward to reporting back not only to many churches that already support us, but also to new churches about what God is doing here in Peru.

I would ask that you would pray for me as I go to raise more support for the Peru Bible College and the Peru Ministry. I will be in the States from May 2nd-20th and during that time will be in approximately 8 churches to present our ministry.

Pray that we can raise more support for the Bible college and the students that are studying there. Currently, we have 60 students enrolled in the Bible College this year, with 27 in the freshman class. Thank you for keeping up to date and I will keep you informed on our trip.

God bless.

David Gardner January prayer letter

Dear Pastors and Praying Friends,

The past couple of months have been hectic! God has been blessing tremendously and we are just trying to keep up.

Bible College

Since our summer months are December-March, our school year ends in the beginning of December. We are so thankful that God has given us the opportunity to invest in the lives of over 40 students as we prepare them for ministry. This year we had three people graduate from our Bible college. I ask that you would pray for them as they are taking their next step in life and in ministry. Rulin Quispe is going to Ecuador to help a missionary family, Cesar Machaca plans to start a church in the near future and Violeta Barrios is continuing to serve with the young ladies in her local church. Pray for this upcoming year that we would see many young people come and train for ministry.

Iglesia Bautista La Roca

A few months ago I had the opportunity to take over as pastor of Iglesia Bautista Calvario. It was a struggling church that was about to close it’s doors. The remaining 6 people that were left at the church were very hurt but also very willing to work. We made a name change to the church and had a launch service on December 6th. God blessed us with over 100 people in the first service and we are continuing to see God’s had work. We average around 50 people every Sunday and God is blessing the preaching of His Word. Please pray that more people will come to church and be saved, discipled and trained.

Iglesia Bautista Omega

At the beginning of January we had the opportunity to baptized two people in our church! We are excited about the growth in the lives of our people and we plan to see many more people baptized in the coming future.

New Baby!

We praise the Lord that David James Gardner was born on December 2nd in Arequipa, Peru. We are thankful that the surgery went well and that James was mostly healthy at birth. One of his lungs had not completely developed, but after five days in the incubator we were able to take him home. Thank you for praying for our family! God has been so good to us and we seek to raise these children for His glory.

Upcoming Changes

Please pray for the Bible College and the ministry here as I will be taking over the ministry here completely starting in February. My brother, Chris, has been a major part of the growth and development of this ministry over the years. I know his heart is here, but due to his son’s health issues, he is forced to stay in the U.S. Please pray for them as they take this new step in their ministry.

Please pray for us! Many people and churches have supported the ministry here through Austin or Chris Gardner. We are praying that many of these long time supporters will continue to see the value in the ministry here and in how God is using it.  Please pray for continued support for the sake of these students who want to be trained and to serve the Lord in ministry.

Thank you all for your prayers and support.

Shreve January prayer letter

Dear pastors and praying friends,

Another month has come and gone, and we are thrilled to death! Our deputation will soon be over, and the day we leave for the field is fast approaching. We have been looking forward to the day we leave for Peru, and can begin learning the Spanish language, Peruvian culture, and get to planting churches! This is what God has called us to do, and we are working our hardest to get to the field!

Here is an update on what the Lord has been doing in our ministry, and some ways you can pray for us!

New support and set up fund update.

January has been a great month for us in terms of both support and our set up fund. God has provided 5 new supporting churches in January, and we are praying for at least that many in February! Please pray for God to touch the hearts of the churches we visit, that they would be able to take us on for support, and hasten us to Peru.

We have also received several generous donations for our setup fund. We are thankful for each and every one of these, and we know that for ever check we receive, there is a story of your hard work and prayer behind it. We are greatly humbled by these donations, and are incredibly thankful for them. When we are setting up our new life in Peru, it will be in no small part to your kindness and generosity.

If you would like to donate to our setup fund, you can send all donations to:

P.O. Box 442

Alpharetta GA

Attn: Shreve set up fund.

We thank you so much for each and every donation

Scheduling meetings and upcoming travels.

For the upcoming weeks, we will be in Florida for 2 weeks, followed by 2 weeks in Virginia, and will then return to the south for a few more weeks. We are praying for God to work in these meetings, and look forward to the Lord blessing our services.

We still have a few open spots on our schedule to present the ministry before we leave, and would love to come present the ministry to you and your church. Feel free to contact me at 4048045806 to do so.

Update from Peru!

David Gardner gave the following update after youth camp in January: “Thank God 4 people were saved, many decisions have been made and some have given their lives to be in the ministry. We got to have more than 300 campers and believe that God blessed him tremendously. “
