Dear Pastors and Praying Friends,
I remember brother Walter showing up at Hunter Baptist Church when I was around 9 or 10 years old. He had fallen into alcoholism, couldn’t get out, and had no hope. However, one day, he heard the gospel and put his trust in Jesus Christ and from that day on his life was never the same.
Every time my dad would preach and say things such as “God can free you from your drunkenness!” brother Walter would shout “That was me!” Throughout the years, he grew in the Lord and God used him to bring many people to Christ. A couple of years ago, as a member of Omega Baptist Church where I Pastor, he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and has been battling that ever since. At one point it seemed as he would make it through, but the cancer has come back with a vengeance. Please pray for brother Walter as it seems that he is in his last days.
Here are a few pictures of my visit with him this week. We were able to be with him for a while and pray for him. In the other pictures, he is showing us the pictures from his old home church and all the people he still remembers and prays for. What is amazing is that in that picture are Pastors and missionaries who are now serving all over the world. Thank you for being a part of the ministry here and helping us see more people, like brother Walter, come to know Christ and have their eternity changed.
